we aim to revitalize Xiaoshan Area of Tangshan City as a major art and cultural area of Tangshan. The design aims to “remember and rediscover” its rich traditional art performances by creating an exhibition space to view its history and a performance space to act its once famous traditional art forms (shadow puppet, story-telling, ping opera, etc).

The “hilly” form of the proposed design is inspired from the origin of Xiaoshan as a village on the hill where people accumulates and became a commercial center. The new hill will also allow people to accumulate again for the rediscovery of forgotten arts.
